Fantastic Machines ... and Where to Find Them .

t ’ s time to discover what Fitness

IIncentive has under its tree for you this year . The answer - A lot of goodies !

We make a sizable investment in new equipment , programs and general facilities every year , and this one is no exception . In fact , it ’ s one of our biggest ever , with 17 pieces of brand new cardio equipment scheduled to arrive before 2017 sneaks up on us . And that ’ s not all ! There ’ ll be exciting additions to the Personal Training and Yoga programs as well . Lets start with the big stuff - the fantastic new machines ...
5 Treadmills Treading , 4 Ellipticals ...
well , whatever it is ellipticals can be said to do . Here ’ s the low down . We ’ re replacing our very popular ( but aging ) Cybex 770 Treads with Cybex ’ s latest generation , the 790 . Same beautiful ride coupled with a higher maximum speed and steeper incline , along with an improved personal entertainment experience . The next generation of a long-term winner .
Then , from Precor , the company that invented the elliptical trainer , we have four of their newest model , the 885 EFX . Through successive generations , the EFX model has remained one of the most popular pieces of cardio equipment at FI . In fact , you voted it your favorite piece in our most recent poll . We heard you ! So we didn ’ t just replace our two older units - we got four of the new ones ! The new units build on everything you loved about the old ones , plus the addition of the more natural “ converging ramp technology .” The latest in a line of great ellipticals from one of our favorite companies .
Next up , our fantastic new machines get a little more exotic . We were long frustrated in our attempts to add a top quality Staircase to our stable of equipment . The reason - our ceilings are too low ! The top machines require a 10 foot ceiling and ours are a measly 8 1 / 2 . The solution ? We raised the roof - literally . This allowed us to add what we believe to be the best staircasetype machine on the market , the Matrix Climbmill C7 . And not just one , but two of these bad boys . We love everything about this unit - deeper stairs , lower entry step , stationary start , easy access maintenance and cleaning , personal entertainment screen ... It ’ s another great machine from another of our favorite manufacturers , Matrix — the same company that makes our insanely great IC7 cycles .
We also added an Octane Zero Runner , one of the most unique machines we ’ ve ever used . Designed to provide a zero impact running experience , this machine feels like you ’ re running in outer space ( or at least what I imagine that might be like ). If you love running , but your hips and knees protest , this machine may be your ticket back to an activity that you can love all over again .
The next up in our parade of new stuff is the True Alpine Climber . 3 of them . These are VERY high incline treads — up

to 30 — replacing a personal favorite , the Free Motion Incline Treadmills . Those were solid performers , but , alas , they had grown old ( by FI standards , anyway ) and it was time for an upgrade . These new True models offer much of the same challenging capabilities packed into a newer , fresher design . We expect to love these every bit as much , if not mor , than the old Free Motions .
Last but not least in the lineup of new machines , two additional Concept 2 Rowers , bringing our total to four . The two we have are pretty new themselves , having been added this time last year . The recent surge in rowing has catapulted the popularity of the Concept 2 , so we just had to add a couple more of them .
You ’ ll notice a few changes in the floor layout to acomodate the new mix of cardio equipment . The EFX and AMT ellipticals have been consolidated and now occupy the back row of the rear cardio deck , while the rowers will all be aligned next to each other facing the main weight room floor . It might take a minute to get used to , but it will be worth it , we promise .
And Lets Not Forget ... Yoga Trapeze
The latest addition to our Yoga program , courtesy of the Dina Voigt ( and the Queenax ), is Trapeze Yoga . This is essentially yoga in a hammock suspended from the Queenax . It goes by many names , and , as we go to press , we ’ re still searching for one to call our program . But whatever we call it , you ’ re gonna flip over it - literally ! As Dina puts it , “ a Yoga trapeze is a swing-like contraption that works as a tool in many yoga postures and muscle strengthening techniques . It allows you to hang from it in various ways making it a natural form of inversion therapy . It also allows you to safely get upside down , reverse blood
