Jexhilarating ( and free !) Master PLYOGA™ class on Sunday October 16 , 2016 @ 10 am in the Main Studio . Our very own FI Trainer and Fitness Instructor Marianela Virella- Mielke , NSCA-CPT will be joined by Chief Master PLYOGA™ Trainer , Christine Conti to lead a one hour high energy core strengthening workout designed to increase your fitness and spinal suppleness .

PLYOGA™ is " a four-part intense interval system implementing fundamental , fluent and accelerated yoga postures as an active recovery for plyometric perfection ." PLYOGA™ unites power & explosiveness with balance & flexibility . If you ' re curious and would like to try it out before then , you can get a taste of PLYOGA™ in an intermediate level class on Wednesdays 6:15 pm - 7:15 pm in the yoga studio .
The science of PLYOGA™ very different , but think about how the edges of these two cultures fit together so perfectly . Both concepts are fundamentally alike in the way that they promote a significant ability to be balanced and centered .
Plyometric training and yoga both actively rely on you to adequately shift your body weight and control to one side or one foot to proactively improve your core strength and balance . " Plyo " is defined as a complete body experience centered on having muscles exert maximum force in as short a time as possible with the goal of increasing both speed and power . That includes other kinds of movement besides just leaving the ground with your feet , so it encompasses more than " jump training ."
PLYOGA™ uses only your body to give you an " I just got out the pool with my clothes on " sensation .
No equipment is needed- just bring a towel ( to mop up your dripping sweat ) and water .

of softball , boxing , and other activities , I never wanted to be the athlete that couldn ' t hold their own … so I prepped a lot . These days I can be found outdoors at FI taking part in Power X which has helped me immensely for all of the Spartan races as well as in the cycling studio and on the floor . It seems when I am not training for anything I feel as if I lose myself a little so I just maintain that routine all year for whatever challenge may be waiting for me . Kristin Havdoglous
I always go to the gym regardless , holidays , summer or even our grueling winters . The motivation is always there for me to challenge myself . I am not the type of person who can sit still . I need an outlet to release my energy , and there is no better way of doing that than at the gym ! You never know what you can do unless you try .
