Navigating Square Zero
The Big Sigh Before the Big Step
A
journey of a thousand miles
begins with a single step. Isn't
that what they say? It sounds so
simple, doesn't it? Just open the door
and step outside to your new
adventures. What about everything
before that, everything before this life
changing single step that everyone talks
about? This is what I like to refer to as,
square zero. It is vast, and it is a force
to be reckoned with, and this is exactly
where I found myself this fall, and
here's how it went. Take it as you will.
How is it possible to just run a
marathon and still wind up stuck in
square zero? It's sort of like when you
eat too much of one thing (never
anything healthy like broccoli) and then
just can't stomach it anymore. The
thought of it is just too much. At first, I
was in denial. I was just taking a wellearned recovery. It usually starts with
a well-earned recovery. The fine line
between recovery and square zero is
vague, but a few indicators are:
