@ FI Cybex Bravo Trainer continued from page 3 FI Fan Mail... We constantly seek out and get a lot of feedback from members, for which we are very appreciative, even when it’s not what we want to hear. It lets us know how we are doing, what we are doing well, and suggestions about how we can improve. Either way, it’s very helpful. Every once in a while we get an email like the one below that just puts smiles on our collective faces. Thank you to Rich Garrett for sharing this brief story. They fill up fast. My brother, who lives in Blue Point wanted to start working out. He joined LA Fitness in Patchogue and asked if I would go a few times to help him out. Right away I was a little uncomfortable with it because I have been going to Fitness Incentive for like 14 years now and suddenly I'm at LA Fitness?!?!? Not cool….I felt like I was cheating on my wife or something. I didn't want to be a weirdo and wanted to help out my brother so I decide to go. As soon as I walked in the door I noticed the staff at the counter was not very welcoming or helpful. My brother finally got one of the girl’s attention and asked if I could have a guest pass. Upon finding out I wasn't a member, she insisted I come over to her desk so I could fill out some paperwork to become a member. I told her I wasn't interested and just wanted a day pass to help my brother The Garretts: Kristen, Thomas and Rich who was new to a gym. Being very pushy she insisted I sit so she could ask me some questions. Not to be rude, I sat. I asked how much it was a month to join. Her response was “How much do you want to pay?”. Confused, I asked again “How much was it per month?” and again her response was “How much do you want to pay?” After going back and forth and realizing I wasn't going to fall for her hidden fees, she finally threw out the number of $50 a month. I told her, “No thank you,” that's what I pay at my gym, and I'm very happy there. She asked, “What gym do you go to? I said Fitness Incentive in Babylon. She said, with a little bit of an attitude, “Never heard of it.” I said, “Huh?... That's strange because it was voted Best Gym on the Island for the last nine years straight.” …she had no response… As I walked around this huge place, every machine I wanted to use was taken. People just hanging around the machines talking. Juice head guys doing anything they could to have people notice them and their fake muscles. The free weight section was a mess. All 8 bench presses
