Taking Off... MATRIX Revolution continued from page 6 that question today, my response would be “I WANT THE BODY I EARNED AND WORKED HARD FOR!” I don't want someone else's version of perfection, I want the perfection I created and earned: the healthiest, fittest, leanest, and most toned version of ME. Instructor Certification on the new bikes The Future: You on an IC7. It will only get better! Baby, I’m Amazed... by Jillian Jacinth These new bikes are amazing! As an instructor and a rider, I love that I am working just as hard as the person next to me, no matter what their fitness level is. These bikes make for your own best possible workout each time. Simply put, the colors make you work. I come out of class dripping in sweat every time. Before the new bikes, I would leave a spin class feeling accomplished. I still feel that sense of accomplishment, only to an even greater extent. I know without a doubt that I am working harder by being able to see and feel my effort paying off. I used to come out of class feeling pretty confident that I had a good workout. Now I can prove to myself that I have given it my all and have even worked past what I thought my limits previously were. Ridiculously Awesome... My first experience on the Matrix IC7 was ridiculously awesome! The room was lit up colorfully from the bikes, and everyone's energy was sky high! I sweat my butt off, and I can't wait for my next ride! - Olivia Gross from page 22 All I can say is WOW! These bikes are great. I think my biggest observation is that you need to fine tune your FTW (functional threshold wattage) number to get the most out of your ride. If it's set too high, you might feel frustrated because it will be too hard to stay in the proper color zone. If it's set too low, it will be too easy, and you may not feel as if you worked out to your full potential. My advice to my students is to use the FTW number that the bike sets for you, ride through all the color zones, then reassess. Did Yellow feel too easy? Was it difficult to get to the Green zone and stay there? This might mean that you need to adjust your number up or down depending on how it felt to you. My other advice is to adjust in increments of no more than 10 until you find the FTW that feels right to you. It may take 2 or 3 rides until you to figure out the best FTW number for you (it took 3 rides for me personally). But once you fine tune your FTW number – watch out! This is one of the best workouts you can get in 30-40 minutes. As an instructor, I am so excited to utilize this new teaching tool to come up with some great new class profiles!” -Liz Lenox, Instructor Wednesdays @ 6 am and starting in the Fall Fridays @ 7 am Power Class So, as of today, I have 16 more pounds to go, till I hit my goal. Hopefully, God willing, I will have reached more than just my goal by the time you are reading this. Funny thing is that when I started on this journey I needed inspira
