me, and I ask how it was and he says words like, "Excellent! Awesome! I feel so good!" Every single time! And this man is...I think he's past eighty. Or maybe he just had his eightieth birthday? I'm not sure. The number doesn't matter. It's 90 for all I know. But Cor tells stories about people who come in and go, "Ohhh...I just turned 40..." like this is why they're not working out. The number doesn't matter. There are 40-year-olds that are 100, and 100-year-olds that are 25. Anyway, John's awesome. Who else? I just saw her and thought of her because she always cracks me up...Kelly Meigel is a riot...Mike! My boyfriend Mike! Cindy! Cindy Angiporti! We have this relationship...we both do the Jumble, and she texts me—"did you get the last word?" Everybody knows how funny Cindy is. Eight million members...there are just so many people. Like, I have a special thing with Mary Krisowaty...we're both "MKs" so it's "Mary K Squared" which we shortened to "Squuh" because we're so cool. She makes me laugh just looking at her. It's everybody, you know, Jourdie, because we were just talking about it..."The more, the merrier..." but it's got to be the right people, and that's who comes to Fitness Incentive. It's been said so many times about Fitness Incentive, but I still say it all the time...it's not a gym! It's a family where you have a blast every second. You're helping yourself in every possible way. Mentally, emotionally, physically...all the "ways." Jourdie: You're always enthusiastic...you're like our mascot. Always in a good mood, always happy to be here...what's you're philosophy? How do you maintain that positive attitude all the time? Mary: It comes naturally, and it is who I am...and I give every bit of the credit to Jesus. I give every bit of the credit to Him. If I didn't have Him in my heart...I've gone through things in my life—and I thank God I haven't gone through some of the things others have—you know, ask your mother this question. Because that's who she is and that's why I say she's such an inspiration. Because as she always says, "We go through things; we're sad or upset..." You know, Jourdie, because you live with it and you live it yourself. But I always know that in the end everything is going to be good. And I know that because I have Jesus in my heart. It's so easy to be happy. It's not so easy to be down. And I'm not saying "I'm never down!" or that things don't get on my nerves...of course! Jourdie: I like when things get on my nerves. "I'm human!" It makes my whole day! Mary: People will say to me what you said, and it makes me feel like a million bucks: "You're always happy!" But I see this quality in a lot of other people too. I see that in you, Jourdie! Jourdie: You always say that... Mary: It's true! I do! I hear you on the phone, talking with the members and hear how awesome you are. Lots of times I want clap my hands and say, "Listen! This is how it is!" But that is how it is. I grew up in a phenomenal family as I know you did, and with my sisters and brother, my parents were phenomenal, so there's no reason for me to be— —and of course I have Artie! Everybody knows Artie! Jourdie: We need a second for Artie. One thing I need to know about Artie...Artie comes in all the time. Did you get him into exercise or did he get you into exercise? Mary: Artie, back in the day 4,000 years ago, was an athlete. He was a high school kid playing baseball, basketball, track, football. He did it all. He was very athletic. But then he got totally away from it, as many athletes do. Long story short, I'd have to say...yes. Yes, I guess I did get him into it. I never thought about it but I bet I did. I myself got into it gradually because I didn't exercise, I didn't eat well when I was younger. But I started and he gradually got into it too. As far as going to a gym...never in his life. This—Fitness Incentive—is his first. Jourdie: What does FI, and the FI family, mean to you? One more time, please? Mary: Well as you know, number one is God. Number two is my family...my blood family. Number three is Fitness Incentive! That's how important it is to me. I hate to use these words, but I don't know what I'd do without Fitness Incentive. I'm going to blubber...I don't know what I'd do without the people at Fitness Incentive...I mean we're there for each other, it's like another family. It really is. And it's so much fun! It's like you said earlier about my being so happy...well, it's easy to be happy when you're in a phenomenally happy situation! We are blessed to be here and to work here. It's a reason to have a big grin on your face every single morning. I could talk about things like fitness and motivation but for me, it's just the fun. It's just so much fun. I walk in feeling like a million bucks and I walk out feeling like eight million bucks! continued on page 20, col 3 Spring 2015 FIT to Print 17
