Difference Makers... mentioned that she wanted to gain muscle definition throughout her body. As we ended our discussion, I corrected her form on the Lat Pull-Down machine and she expressed her excitement about beginning training with me. Using my current background in Exercise Science from Adelphi University, I created a program using the 8-to-12 repetition rule. I took advantage of Fitness Incentive's new selectorized circuit, not only to train my client, but to also to teach her about the equipment. Kristin loves to be challenged, so I added in one or two different things every training session just to switch things up. My approach to training is to create a safe and effective program based on the clients' needs, goals, and limitations. By implementing such a program, positive results will be produced. was able to hike the Redwoods in Muir Park, California in October without being winded or in any pain, which was thrilling! I enjoy exercising again and I would recommend Jamie to everyone. She is supportive, knowledgeable, and really Jamie Pittelli Lauren Goodwin & Kristen Dileo and pure enjoyment of her journey toward better health was amazing. She not only made substantial gains in physical fitness but in mental fortitude as well. In nine months anyone and everyone noticed her truly remarkable transformation. Tim Atz Christine: I started working with Tim early last spring with the hopes of becoming more physically fit and improving my 5K, 10K and half marathon race times. He designed a total body sculpting and strength training program that he leads me through when we meet once each week. Since I began working with him last March, my times have improved; recently I ran a half marathon and took two minutes off my personal best. I feel like a stronger, faster runner and I look forward to progressing even further under Tim's guidance. Tim: Christine perfectly embodies my personal training philosophy, which goes beyond simply going through the motions and counting reps. It's more about making the decision to change your life and taking the necessary steps to make those changes happen. It's all consistent with my motto: “If your mind can believe, the body can achieve.” Lauren Goodwin This past June, I started working as a personal Trainer at Fitness Incentive, and in August I began training Kristen Dileo. We were both working out on our own at the cable crossover station when she approached me about training. I do that by helping them get stronger and more confident in themselves whether it be through gaining physical strength, through emotional strength by supporting their journey, by helping them lose weight, or by encouraging a sense of familiarity and security about the equipment they use and the exercises they perform. Often it is a combination of several motivations. I put together safe and effective programs for all of my clients and encourage them to use my workouts when they are on their own. I also encourage them to pursue a healthy diet and offer advice and ideas should they require it. There are many aspects to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and I am here to give advice and support. One client that I've had the pleasure to work with is Connie Cerrato. Connie came to me as a new member through her Fit 2 Go in November, 2013. At the time she was 51 and had been fairly inactive for a few years. I asked her if she would give a testimonial regarding our time together over the past year. This is what she had to say... “I decided to join a gym November 2013 as part of my personal care goal. I had several serious injuries and had become inactive in my lifestyle and I was overwhelmed with where and how to begin. I joined FI looking for help, but I was afraid of injury. I was scheduled for a Fit 2 Go assessment and that's when I met Jamie. I was very weak. Climbing stairs, getting up and down from the floor trying to play with my grandchildren, holding them in my arms...these were all hard and painful tasks. Jamie gets me. She helped me build strength while not hurting myself. I am stronger and much more active now. I can manage stairs well now. From the start, she has come to the gym ready to work hard and with a positive attitude. Connie has lost almost 13 inches and 11 pounds, and she has made tremendous improvements in overall strength, muscle tone, and flexibility. Connie always welcomes new and challenging exercises. I am incredibly proud of her and look forward to continuing to support her life-improving journey. Joe Skorubski In early 2010, while training Lori Ames, I met her son, Rob Ames. He would sometimes accompany Lori while she trained and decided to train with me as well. He was doing very well, building muscle and toning up when tragedy struck. In October 2010, three weeks after his 22nd birthday, he was diagnosed with an inoperable malignant brain tumor. My wife and I visited Rob in the Neuro ICU after one of his surgeries. His mom left her job of 20 years and was by his side day and night. With encouragement from Rob, Lori started her own public relations business here in Babylon, which is doing very well. Rob actually works there with his mom now. With Rob's illness, so began a tough battle: four surgeries, three rounds of chemo, five weeks of cranial radiation, ICU stays, ER visits, and months of rehab so that he could relearn to walk and regain strength in his left side.
