I struggled this month to write this message because
every time I thought about what to write, I thought
about my dad. My dad passed away a couple weeks
ago and I’m still having a hard time believing that he’s
gone. everyday something occurs and it reminds me
of him. The memories of my father and the things we
did together will stay with me forever and its those
memories that will help me through this.
So why am I unloading on you like this? Well fishing
isn’t just something we do to kill time. When I think
about my family, I often think about all the good
times we had fishing. It’s a pastime that has been
shared by many through the years. As little kids
we went fishing with our grandfathers, we skipped
school to go out on the boat with our dad and
watched with excitement as our kids landed their
first catch. There are so many reasons why fishing
is one of the greatest family activities that we can
participate in. It’s the cherished memories that will
last a lifetime. So take time and soak it all in. The next
time you’re fishing, remember the smile on your
kid’s face or the stories your buddy tells. It’s not just
about how many fish you catch. It’s the memories
you create that’ll last a lifetime. Someday that’s all
you might have. RIP Dad.
I hope you enjoy this issue of Big Bass Monthly. It’s
more than just some insert we throw into a box.
We’re sharing stories and tips designed to help you
become a better angler and maybe even make you
laugh along the way. If you have any suggestions on
how to make it better, drop me a note at...

Cheers.
