species pursued at Pardee – and grow
big and fat in the rich waters of the
reservoir. Ronny Shelton of Ione set the
lake rainbow record on June 14, 2002
when he landed an 18.65 lb. fish while
bank fishing with Power Bait in the
recreation area.
Bank anglers and boaters reported
top-notch trout fishing in the main recre-
ation area of Lake Pardee on opening
weekend 2020. The recreation area
opened for camping on February 13 and
for fishing on February at 5:00 a.m. after
being closed for three months.
The Rocky Mountain Recreation
Company planted 10,000 pounds of
rainbow trout prior to the opening
weekend. Mt. Lassen Hatchery released
5000 pounds on February 13 and
another 5000 pounds on February 14.
