MOSS LANDING – The wind continues
to be a problem on the Monterey County
coast, but the boats are coming back with
limits of rockfish and good numbers of
lingcod when the weather allows.
“The wind has been horrible lately,”
said Carol Jones of Kahuna Sportfishing.
“However, we were able to get down the
coast on the weekend of June 23 and 24
and catch limits of rockfish and some nice
lingcod.”
On Saturday, the Kahuna made it Twin
Rocks. The 16 anglers landed
17 canary rockfish, 20 copper rockfish,
7 lingcod, 83 rockfish and 40 vermilion
rockfish.
“On Sunday, the 15 anglers fished in
shallow water off the Big Sur Coast and
landed 10 lingcod and 150 rockfish,” she
stated.
On a previous trip to Point Sur blessed
with calm weather, the 22 anglers
landed 44 lingcod, 38 copper rockfish,
100 vermilion rockfish and 60 assorted
rockfish.
“On a good note, we have added a few
