the Queen of Hearts went rockfishing
south of the harbor for 17 limits of
rockfish and 16 lingcod, and they have
landed as many as 24 lings to 17
pounds within the past week.
The lingcod have moved into the
shallows, and they have been working
the same spots for both lings and
quality bottom-dwelling rockfish.

Sport Fishing will also be focusing on
rockfishing until the end of the season
on December 31st.
Half Moon Bay Sport Fishing will
be featuring rockfish/lingcod only
trips while the Huli Cat is the only
large party boat offering crab-only or
rockfish/crab combination trips starting
November 3rd.
Second captain Michael Cabanas of
the Huli Cat said, “We went south to
San Gregorio for the past few days,
and limits of school fish along with
lings to 13 pounds have been coming
with regularity. The ocean conditions
have been outstanding with glassy
seas with only a slight breeze and
roll. Brian Hiegert of Oakdale landed
the jackpot ling at 13 pounds on a
hitchhiker on Saturday, October 27th.”
Further north in Pacifica, the
momentum is building for the
recreational crab opener, and since a
