DON PEDRO COMBOS… Trollers are scoring
1. a variety of fat kokanee and big rainbows. The
kokanee are holding 40 to 60 feet deep, while the
‘bows lurk 35 to 45 feet down.
GOLDEN GATE POTLUCK… Variety is the
2. word for live bait drifters. Striper limits are the
rule and there are plenty of halibut to 30 plus pounds
mixed in.
WHISKEYTOWN KOKANEE… Limits of
3. kokanee in the 13 to 14.5 inch class are coming
out of Whiskeytown. Pink lures trolled 50 to 80 feet
draw the strikes.
AMADOR CATFISH… Big hungry catfish are
4. on the feed. Anglers are getting catfish up to
and beyond 10 pounds while soaking mackerel, night
crawlers and chicken liver.

GOOD BETS…
NEW HOGAN STRIPERS … Trollers are nailing
5. stripers to 6 pounds. The bass will hit Rapalas
and other plugs but the best bet is rigged anchovies
or shad.
ALMANOR TROUT… Trollers and moochers
6. are bagging trout that range up to 6 lbs. Trollers
are slow trolling worms 25 to 35 feet deep, while
moochers soak crawlers and meal worms.
BODEGA ROCKFISH… Lights out bottomfish
7. action is on tap for Sonoma Coast anglers. White
shrimp flies fool the rockfish while metal jigs tempt
bonus lings.
HAT CREEK BROOKIES… Hat Creek has been
8. heavily stocked with brookies and rainbows. Red
salmon eggs, crickets and gold Kastmasters all draw
strikes.
SLEEPERS…
TAHOE MACKINAW… Mackinaw ranging to
9. 18 lbs. are being hooked while trolling. Minnows
teamed with dodgers have been working best when
worked from 100 to 200 feet down.
SAN PABLO CATS… Catfish are providing
10. steady action with many fish ranging from 4
to 10 lbs. Mackerel, ‘crawlers and sardines fillets are
the top baits.
HALF MOON ROCKFISH… Limits are the
11. rule for rockfish anglers departing from Pillar
Point. Swimbaits are producing some fish, but shrimp
flies are doing the best business.
FRENCH MEADOWS TROUT… The lake
12. level is up and the brown trout are biting.
Bank anglers are hooking fish to 16 inches while
soaking worms and casting minnow plugs.

FEATHER RIVER KINGS… Salmon fishing
13. will start on July 16. Based on the number of
salmon that arrived this spring, the early action could
be great.

fishing in the deep water areas of Suisun Bay
below Pittsburg is generally great in late August. Roe
and eel will produce bites.
