HELPING HANDS FOR CHARITY AND MA NATURE
I DON ’ T KNOW about you , but I am going to celebrate springtime in North
America and fish , hunt and ride and ROCK like I mean it ! There is most definitely an increased spring in my step ! I have bluegill and bass and croppie slab dreams that won ’ t go away ! Wild turkeys call my name ! The Great Spirit of the mighty bear needs me ! There are wild leeks , mushrooms , scallions and asparagus to be stalked ! My springtime earthly instincts are so powerful I am once again driven to break ground to plant wildlife crops and snort Ma Nature ’ s springtime essence to renew my Spirit of the Wild connection with a New Year and new adventure .
Every spring since around 1969 , the Nugent family has gathered together and trudged excitedly into the muddy wilds of our sacred Michigan swampgrounds to plant coniferous , deciduous and fruit bearing trees by the thousands ! See that vast , stunning cathedral like forest over yonder ! I planted that ! Hallelujah and pass the seedlings !! My Lord how I love fall and winter more than you can imagine , but springtime represents an explosive annual rebirth , a dynamo renewal , a stimulating reinvigoration , an effervescent re-awakening for life itself , and baby I am on it like a wild dog on a meaty bone !
And of course lest we not forget my prime driving duty to my fellow man as me and the boys in the band get together to storm across the hinterland for another year of sonic bombast and animal breeding soundtrack dance music for real music lovers everywhere .
We don ’ t get to jam in Canada anywhere near as much as we would love to , but if you want to witness the soulful ferocity of a backstrap fueled guitarboy , do everything in your power to join us on our firebreathing TED NUGENT MAKE AMERICA ROCK AGAIN rockout 2017 , coming to a tooth , fang and claw dance party all summerlong !
Springtime in the great outdoors is truly a magical time of year for us sporters . I will indeed take part in a most passionate way all those springtime adventures listed above .
But something else that happens this time of year that may very well be more important than any of the thrilling springtime rituals we all love . And that would be the New Year ’ s celebration and promotion of our beloved outdoors lifestyle for all the world to witness .
For this old guitarplayer / bowhunter , it has happened 100s and 100s of times over the years . To help raise awareness for a given charity event , I get on regional radio shows across the country to promote and celebrate these glowing nonstop examples of the amazing generosity of hunting families whenever our fellow man or the environment needs a helping hand . And with millions of ears at my disposal I of course , as always , weave in the promotion and celebration of our glorious hunting / conservation and 2nd Amendment outdoor lifestyle by focusing on how it is more often than not the hunting families who dig the deepest and give the most .
The most glaring example of hunters caring and giving more comes when I challenge the lunatic fringe animal rights goons that are surely listening to outbid the hunters for a donation item to show how they might care more . Crickets ! Silence ! No takers . No nothing . Not a peep , not a word . Ever . I recall on numerous occasions when I donated a hunting trip to raise funds for a children ’ s charity , I challenged the hunter-hater animal rights punks to simply outbid the hunter ’ s donations and that as a bonus we would actually cancel the hunt .
Always the same thing ; no takers , glaring proof to the masses that they just don ’ t care .
You can be certain I milk it live on the air the abject failure of any animal rights goofball to step up to the plate and show the world how they are more caring , more giving , more compassionate and more generous than the hunting community .
This takes place on major radio shows with millions of listeners , and never once did any of them offer a single dime for any of the charities . I used the power of the media airways to expose their soullessness for the world to hear , while the whole time maximizing the celebration that when it comes time to help a sick child or a wounded hero of the U . S . Military , it is always the hunting families of North America that represent the best of the best , and how animal rights freaks represent the worst of the worst . It is always so beautiful I feel a very pleasant tingling inside . As the political left ( to which the animal rights freaks belong ) scrambles madly to make the preposterous claim that Americans don ’ t care about their fellow man or the environment , it is standard operating procedure for the hunting families of North America to continue to lead the way in being the most generous segment of humankind anywhere in the world .
When you really think about it , we hunters , fishers and trappers raise many millions of dollars every year to make the world a better place .
I see it constantly when every imaginable children ’ s charity and all the military charities rake in the truckloads of donations from hunting organizations and individual hunters throughout the year every year .
Then of course when it comes to the critical wildground that produces quality air , soil and water for all living things , you can go ahead and put American hunters at the top of the tuned-in and generosity list .
Just think about the gazillions of dollars raised for wildlife and wildlife habitat by hunting groups .
Off the top of my head just listing the amazing wildlife conservation organizations that my hunting buddies and I have donated to : Ducks Unlimited , Delta Waterfowl , Pheasants Forever , Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation , Whitetails Unlimited , National Wild Turkey Federation , the Wild Sheep Foundation , Trout Unlimited , Quail Unlimited , The Grouse Society , The Mule Deer Foundation , and of course the mighty NRA , SCI , Boone & Crocket Club , Pope & Young Club and literally 100s of other national , global and state wildlife conservation organizations that lead the way for a healthy , productive Mother Earth .
So once again I sincerely thank and SALUTE my fellow hunters , fishers and trappers across our great nations for always being the most giving , most caring , most aware and most generous when it comes to philanthropy on every level .
With the winter and spring and summer conservation events springing up somewhere , everywhere pretty much every weekend for many months to come , try to attend as many as you can and be sure to spread the word how the outdoor families of the world are indeed the best families in the world and the world . We care more , we give more , we try harder .
