New and expectant parents snapped up bargains on top quality baby and children's clothes, toys and equipment at our recent Nearly New Sale at St John’s, Eden Park.
ur Saturday 26 November ticketed sale was packed with good quality preloved children's goods. Savvy
mums and dads were browsing in search of a cheaper and less wasteful alternative to trawling the high street. Local parents were able to snap up bargains on things that might only have been used a handful of times, whilst helping to support NCT’s vital charity work. Our cafe with bacon sarnies and yummy homemade cakes (made and donated by our lovely volunteers) was also a hit!
The St John's venue has undergone extensive refurbishment so we did our best to adjust and hope the layout worked for buyers. In a bid to make our sales more welcoming for the whole family, we trialled a toddler play area and bacon sandwiches for the first time, and we are considering providing a baby feeding area at our next sale. Sellers at Nearly New Sales can make cash from their used items (as long as they’re in excellent condition). They keep up to 80% of the proceeds while the rest is returned to fund NCT’s work. The income generated from Nearly New Sales helps the charity support parents, fund helplines, provide breastfeeding counsellors, train antenatal teachers and offer many more services at local, regional and national level.
