Parenting can be a tricky and hectic job, one minute you’re acting like Google for an inquisitive toddler and the next minute you’re a nurse, chef and artist all in the space of 5 minutes. This juggling act can take its toll on our emotional wellbeing and it is important to spend a few minutes whenever possible to focus on how you are feeling in that moment, in a non-judgemental way, to bring peace to an otherwise demanding lifestyle

One way to do this is by practising mindfulness, which is a therapeutic technique used to acknowledge and accept feelings and thoughts by focusing on the present moment. One of the most accessible breathing exercises is FOFBOC....Feet On Floor, Bum On Chair. Spend a few minutes sitting in a comfortable chair, feel the sensation of your bum on the chair, feel the weight of your feet on the floor; breathe in, remembering to let your belly move out rather than sucking it in (as modelled by our little ones), and then slowly exhale.
