PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES

To get there, I flew to Manila, capital city of Philippines, and took a connecting domestic flight to Puerto Princessa City, Palawan.

To fully experience a new place, I personally think there are four things to do – know the people, try the food, visit the places and immerse in the culture. And in Palawan, there is no shortage of that. There is much the island has to offer. A 45-minute paddleboat ride down the Puerto Princessa Underground River is a must for first time travellers. Nature has a lot to offer.

Experience the feast-like ambience of Kalui where they serve the most delectable seafood dishes and traditional local cuisines. For the gastronomically adventurous, try Palawan’s famous dish – Crocodile sisig (sizzling crocodile meat).

Visit one of the famous white-sand beach, Dos Palmas Island Resort & Spa for a complete Palawan Island experience. Engage yourself with water activities like swimming, kayaking, snorkelling and deep water diving. For the sunburnt conscious, enjoy a relaxing time in the spa or other indoor activities.

Finish the trip with a visit to the Crocodile farm, and marvel at the thousands of fireflies on the Iwahig River at night. Finally, drop by Baker’s Hill to buy some pastries and souvenirs to bring back home. I personally like collecting those fridge magnet! :)
