ALL IN ONE PHUKET ISLAND

Asia's most popular island

Work Hard, Holiday harder.. That’s what I always say to myself.. For those who are busy lately, there is nothing wrong if you take a break and check out this beautiful island which is located only 2 hours away from Singapore..

The smell of tom yum… Yes it was the first smell that struck into my nose when I got into Phuket Int airport. Such a strong welcome message which made me realized that I was in Thailand. The airport is rather small but there was a construction for a new terminal I think.

Phuket has an area about 543 km2 which is about two-third of Singapore. It has a lot of beautiful beaches spread around inside and outside the main island. It lies in the Phang Nga Bay province of Thailand which famous with its numerous dramatic limestones rising sheer out of the sea. Not to forget its magnificent under water life for those who like to snorkel or even diving.

There are at least 3 beaches where the tourist normally stay in : The busy Patong Beach, the kind of mixed karon beach, and the peaceful Kata Beach. Each of them has its own character, and I strongly advice you to choose the one that is more suitable for you.

PATONG BEACH is the most famous beach resort on Phuket. With its wide variety of activities and nightlife, Patong is an ideal place to party and “play”. By night the town has a bustling nightlife which includes literally hundreds of restaurants, beer bars, GoGo Bars and of course discos. The most talkabout Bangla Road lies exactly at the heart of this area. “SEXY” dancer, ranging from the real men to the real women (if you get what I mean) are available here.. some even dancing at the open space at the display window in front of the bar so you can “enjoy” them for free.. Thus, not exactly children friendly. =P

KARON BEACH features the third longest beach on Phuket Island. The beach itself has yellow sands, excellent snorkelling (and even diving) spots at its southern end and is wide enough for beachgoers to never feel crowded. Karon Beach road is ideal for taking a romantic evening stroll.

KATA BEACH , just a few minutes south of Karon Beach, entices and charms many visitors with its white sand and clear water. Very popular with families, Kata is an all round favourite due to its spectacular palm-lined beach, great restaurants, lively but not raucous nightlife and varied accommodation options - all close to the beach.
