The construction of The Duo will add a new face on the area with its modern design and leads the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) plan for a mixed-use cluster in Ophir-Rochor corridor. The Duo is an integrated development which consists with 4 different usages: 5-star hotel, Art retail gallery, Grade-A office, and Residences

An internationally acclaimed architect was behind its unique design which actually evokes the movements of a dancing couple. In term of sustainability, as pre required by Building Construction Authority, The Duo has achieved few green marks and awards through its innovative environmental friendly design.

It is funded 40:60 by Singapore’s state-owned company, Tamasek Holdings Ptd Ltd and Malaysia’s investment fund company, Khazanah Nasional Berhad respectively. They then set a new company named M+S Pte Ltd as the developer for four land parcels including Marina South

Scope of work

Utracon has a very important role in this project. Prestressing typical floor as well as the Transfer floor are among our scopes. With typical cycle of 5.5 days for every floor, we must work extremely accurate and fast in order to meet the target. One of the special feature in this project is the vertical prestressing system which we have been engaged to ensure the work will be done smoothly. High Strength Stressbars are designed to "hold" the cantilever parts of the Commercial tower whereas strands will be used for the residential tower. The vertical prestressing system also being used to control the lateral movement of the building during construction stages.

Located in Bugis area, bounded by Ophir Road and Rochor Road, the Duo will be the next icon of Singapore. It will be standing close to few educational, heritage, and cultural place such as Singapore Art Museum, the famous Bugis Street as well as Kampong Glam.
