The best of the best in First Coast food will return to the Avenues Mall on Oct. 25 for the 32nd annual Caring Chefs event, benefitting the Children’s Home Society of Florida. The event is touted as the biggest and best food and wine tasting in Jacksonville, hosting crowds of upwards of 2,000 attendees in the mall to sample cuisine from across Northeast Florida. Both levels of the Avenues Mall will be taken over by restaurant vendor booths as visitors are invited to roam the mall sampling wine and spirits while listening to live music, all in the name of helping children. Thirty years ago, the board of directors for the Children’s Home Society of Florida began the Caring Chefs event in hopes of gaining community support for their cause. The event supports the group’s overall mission: embracing children, inspiring lives. The proceeds from Caring Chefs will be a major portion of the funding for the 22 programs that promote recovery from and the prevention of child abuse. The programs are broken down into three categories: embracing families, residential and clinical programs. The 32nd annual Caring Chefs event will take place on Oct. 25 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Avenues Mall in Jacksonville. Tickets may be purchased and more information found at www.chsfl.org/caringchefs. 2015’S RESTAURANT PARTICIPANTS WILL INCLUDE: ALLEY CAKES MOXIE KITCHEN 619 Ocean view ABC Fine Alley Cakes Desert Company Anthony’s Gourmet Catering Art Institute of Jacksonville Athens CafÈ Black Sheep Restaurant Blue Bamboo Blue Fish Restaurant and Oyster Bar The Candy Apple CafÈ and Cocktails Copeland’s of New Orleans d’Vine Cuisine Engine 15 Brewing Enzaís Italian Restaurant Fionn MacCools Irish Pub FSCJ Culinary Arts School The Gifted Cork Gilbert’s Underground Kitchen The Grotto Havana Jax Cafe & Cuba Libre Bar Juliette’s Bistro, Jacksonville Omni Latitude 360 Lemongrass Thai Cuisine Maggiano’s Little Italy Marlin Moon Grille Meditterania Restaurant Mojo Kitchen Moxie Kitchen + Cocktails Nineteen at TPC Sawgrass Nippers Beach Grille North Beach Bistro Peterbrooke Chocolatier The Potter’s House Soul Food Bistro Pussers Bar & Grille Ragtime Tavern The REEF Restaurant Orsay Rollin’ Rita’s Advanced Party Solutions Roy’s Restaurant Ruth’s Chris Steak House Seven Bridges Grille and Brewery Simply Sara’s Starbucks Sweet!
