935 Local Leaders Receive Tech Training at Facebook Daily, over a billion people log into Facebook, using the network to get everything from breaking news to entertainment. Now, California firefighters are better equipped to get their message in front of these users. In late September, leadership from more than 60 California Professional Firefighters-affiliated locals attended comprehensive training at Facebook headquarters in Silicon Valley. Subjects from advertising to political action as well as education of the public about our job was discussed. This new outlet gives us the opportunity and outlet to reach a vast audience to give them insight into what our members do every day. Facebook and other social media networks are the way people are communicating today. We want to make sure our members— and our message—are out in front of that trend. Representing Local 935 was Executive Vice President Dan Wooters, First Vice President Gary Jager and Second Vice President Jeremy Kern. DIVISION 11 NEWS Special Operations Update I’m amazed by what was achieved this past year, both by the personnel assigned to Division 11 and those assisting from across County Fire. It is impossible for me to list each and every name that has a positively impacted and continued to support our mission of providing world-class service to San Bernardino County. I am truly grateful to all of you and thank you for your service and dedication to your coworkers. The efforts you put forth will benefit everyone into the future. I want to pass along some reminders as we look ahead. F
