Local Leaders Receive
Tech Training at Facebook
Daily, over a billion people log into Facebook, using the network
to get everything from breaking news to entertainment. Now,
California firefighters are better equipped to get their message in
front of these users.
In late September, leadership from more than 60 California
Professional Firefighters-affiliated locals attended comprehensive
training at Facebook headquarters in Silicon Valley. Subjects
from advertising to political action as well as education of the
public about our job was discussed. This new outlet gives us the
opportunity and outlet to reach a vast audience to give them
insight into what our members do every day.
Facebook and other social media networks are the way people
are communicating today. We want to make sure our members—
and our message—are out in front of that trend.
Representing Local 935 was Executive Vice President Dan
Wooters, First Vice President Gary Jager and Second Vice
President Jeremy Kern.
DIVISION 11 NEWS
Special Operations Update
I’m amazed by what was achieved this past year, both by the personnel assigned
to Division 11 and those assisting from across County Fire. It is impossible for
me to list each and every name that has a positively impacted and continued to
support our mission of providing world-class service to San Bernardino County.
I am truly grateful to all of you and thank you for your service and dedication
to your coworkers. The efforts you put forth will benefit everyone into the future.
I want to pass along some reminders as we look ahead. F
