Writer - Frank Clarke
Frank Clarke , brother of Margi is from Kirkby a suburb of Liverpool . After his success as a writer on award winning soap Brookside , Frank wrote his first acclaimed feature film Letter to Brezhnev which was produced by Janet Goddard and directed by Chris Bernard . Frank went on to write two more feature films , The Fruit Machine in 1989 that starred Robbie Coltrane and Blonde Fist in 1991 , starring his sister Margi and Liverpool actor Gary Mavers .
Director - Chris Bernard
Chris Bernard was born in Liverpool and started his professional career in the theatre . In 1977 he developed an old warehouse in Matthew Street , Liverpool into a theatre venue and was a founder member and Company Manager of the acclaimed Science Fiction Theatre of Liverpool which went on to open the National Theatre- Cottesloe Theatre with their celebrated production of ILLUMINATUS ! Written and directed by Ken Campbell & Chris Langham and starring Prunella Gee , Jim Broadbent and David Rappaport .
Chris directed his first play The Immortalist by Heathcote Williams and went on to direct others , most notably The Maids by Jean Genet , Lainey Robertson ’ s The Insanity of Mary Girard and Heroes , about the war poet Wilfred Owen .
After working as a script writer for the Channel 4 soap opera Brookside . His debut film was Letter to Brezhnev . His other film and TV credits include All Quiet on the Western Front , And The Beat Goes On , Making Out , Under the Mud , Little Bit of Lippy , Eastenders , Shadow on the Earth .
