Fire Door –An important aspect of
limiting the spread of fire, smoke,
and toxic gases is protecting the
openings in the fire compartment
design that are provided to allow
the building to be functional. Fire
Doors are one of the systems
which are necessary for the
functioning of the building. Fire
doors are used to enable safe
egress of the occupants from the
building in case of fire.
In terms of NBC 2016, Fire door
assembly is defined as follows:
