assembly provides guidance on
what type of opening protection
is required and will show the
importance of properly installing
penetration firestop systems and
fire-resistant joint systems.
According to NBC 2016, section
2.28, fire resistance ratings
for the fire stop systems are
established by using the test
procedures by approved and
accepted methods.
In this
context, the Bureau of Indian
Standards has developed Fire
resistance test methodology
for

Firestop system - IS 12458
“Fire Resistance of Through
