it can quickly adapt to provide an air level as
well. Depending on the size or complexity of the
building a good time to call command to request
a replacement is one green or yellow light. One
green indicates half a bottle plus 500psi, one
yellow (amber) allows time to communicate
additional division needs. The longer a company
officer waits after a low air alarm sounds to ask
for a replacement from incident command the
more the time to exit and work in that division are
significantly affected.
Using the HUD in bread and butter fires prepares
departments for big box and RIT operations. This
straightforward interpretation requires less time
to determine the air levels; it provides useful
information for command and sector officers to
track work cycles and replace crews operating in
the immediate dangerous to life and health
(IDLH).
