3 . You are the captain of the first due engine at a residential structure fire ( crew of three ), and upon arrival , you see fire showing from the front ( A side ) of a one-story house . There does not appear to be anyone outside of the structure , and the bystanders say they “ think ” the family is on vacation , but they are not sure . Describe the direction you would provide to your crew and the actions you would take to set up this incident for success .

You are the captain of the truck company ; upon arrival at a two-story residential structure fire , with fire on the second floor , the Incident Commander assigns you as the Ventilation Group Supervisor and directs you to perform vertical ventilation . Describe the direction you would provide to your crew and the actions you would take to prepare for and accomplish your assignment .

You are the captain of the truck company ; upon arrival at a high-rise structure fire , the Incident Commander assigns you as the Ventilation Group Supervisor and directs you to perform ventilation . The building is eight ( 8 ) stories tall , and the fire is in one apartment on the fourth floor . Describe the direction you would provide to your crew and the actions you would take to prepare for and accomplish your assignment .

You are the battalion chief ( Battalion 1 ) who arrives on scene of a working apartment complex fire ; you have what appears to be a fire contained to an apartment on the second floor of a three story , garden style apartment complex . Your first-due captain ( on Engine 1 ) has made the following assignments : Engine 1 Captain as Incident Commander ; Engine 2 crew attacking the fire on the second floor with the Engine 1 Firefighter ; Engine 3 taking a line above fire to the third floor checking for extension and removing any occupants in potential danger , and Truck 1 performing ventilation and securing utilities . The fire appears to be spreading to other units and has the potential to be a significant event .
