The premier FiND iT coloring contest was super fun and successful , especially for the winner fredlandia _ 1 ! ( Do an Instagram hashtag search for # coloritcolonial to see all the entries .) We were all so impressed with the many creative entries , that the staff of Colonial Jewelers decided to sponsor the page for this issue , too !
The coloring page for this issue has love radiating every where ! It ’ s just waiting for you to grab some colored pencils , markers , or crayons and creatively express your love in full color .
All the rules for our old-school coloring contest are on the reverse of the coloring page , which is perforated for easy removal to give you easy access for coloring , posting , hanging proudly on your fridge , and maybe even framing ?
So just relax , enjoy the process and feel the color of love !
TIPS AND TOOLS
Even if the last time you picked up a crayon was in kindergarten , coloring is like riding a bike , just jump in and you ’ ll be soothing your inner-child in no time ! The rules are few , but the possible tools and techniques are many .
+ Crayons
+ Pastels + Colored Pencils + Inexpensive eye + Watercolor Pencils shadow ( they have + Gel Pens great blending
+ Markers properties )
If you want to start trying some advanced techniques , add a blending pencil to help soften and blend colored pencils .
Use different pressures and change directions when coloring to create a variety of textures .
If you have wrist issues such as carpal tunnel , etc . try starting with low bleed markers ... they don ’ t blend as well but they ’ re easier on your wrist .
Breathe , color , relax , repeat .
