Just about a year ago , Chef Jorge Velasquez launched Mayta ’ s Peruvian Cuisine on Buckeystown Pike . Using only the freshest ingredients , Chef Velasquez studied the art of cooking in his homeland of Peru . Honoring the traditions of his ancestors , then combining that with a variety of new techniques , he created his own style of ceviche and other delicious foods . His is a unique taste that must be experienced . Diners are certain to find a dish that will soon become a favorite .

With a menu featuring such delights as the Kahuna Burger , a variety of fish tacos , and the aptly named Sunchild Salad , there is something for everyone . Dining among surfboards , beach art and tones of blue and white definitely set the stage , so even if you ’ re a shubie ( someone that buys surf gear and clothes but doesn ’ t actually surf ), the beach is always open .
