PARKING, PUPS AND DINOS So, you’re seeing a giant green dinosaur... If you’re enjoying an adult beverage on the rooftop patio at Brewer’s Alley, don’t worry. You haven’t been over-served. You’ve simply for a front-row view of Frederick’s latest installment of public art! By unanimous vote of the city’s Historic Preservation Commission, Frederick artist Goodloe Byron was allowed to put his fingerprints and paints all over the the west side of the city’s Church Street parking garage, as part of an overall alleyway improvement effort by the Downtown Frederick Partnership. The 150-foot long by 30-foot high mural whimsically pays homage to the Astrodon johnstoni dinosaur. Apparently the State of Maryland adopted that as its official dinosaur in 1998.
