COLLATERAL DAMAGE PROJECT: In his years as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Tim Barclay has seen the effects of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in post 9/11 military veterans. These individuals experience increased irritability, aggression, changes in personality, social withdrawal and, worst case scenario, they distance themselves from their loved ones. “They don’t know how to connect emotionally anymore which further causes anger,” Barclay explained, “It can turn into domestic violence... breaks families up…[and] renders many people incapable of engaging in the workforce which requires them to be on disability. It wreaks havoc in their lives.”
