accordgroup.org.uk /value-for-money Making it count To ensure VFM is at the heart of the Group’s activities, an internal value for money brand, called Make it Count, has been developed to: n Communicate the importance of providing value-added services in the context of the core housing and care and support services n Ensure colleagues are aware of the requirement for the responsible application of public funds n Ensure colleagues are aware of their responsibilities in achieving and demonstrating value for money and how they are required to contribute to delivering the VFM strategy n Encourage constructive challenges and suggestions to improve VFM n Share and celebrate VFM successes. The campaign is championed by the VFM working group. Membership of the Group is formed of senior management from the across the Group covering a variety of functions and departments. The VFM working group meets regularly to co-ordinate Accord’s VFM activities and oversee the implementation of the VFM strategic action plan. The VFM working group also ensures that all major functions within the Group prepares and implements its own departmental VFM action plan. The VFM working group supports colleagues in not only embedding VFM in core activities, but also pro-actively capturing and reporting on VFM achievements.
