The idea for this piece came from Steven's prompt of writing about a man that uses his wife's corpse as an art work. I thought it was a really cool prompt and developed it into this poem. I began by writing a first draft. After that I did some small changes in the stanzas and verses, but nothing bigger. It was until I got feedback from my classmates that I really changed and edit the poem. Since, it is going to be in Sin Fronteras it has to be really revised. So with my peer's feedback and Mr. Chase’s, I changed it to be almost perfect. I am proud of the story as a whole and the way I told it. "But this alien sensation of devouring shadows; That took grip of his heart; And squeezed the happiness out of it; Through pain; And tears; Lurked every time he laid eyes on the corpse" I believe that I have grown so much in writing descriptions, in getting to transmit what I want the reader to picture. However, the piece can be a little confusing. I go back and forth between talking about the corpse or the man or the disease. I still need to work on the structure and organization. Yet, I really like this piece, it shows my improvement during the year and it is one of my best.
