This piece was also inspired by Women’s Day. I focused on the use of stereotypes for this piece, which resulted into giving it a unique touch. It went through many faces of editing. My first draft was only going to have one paragraph of the narrator telling the reader what to do and the rest was going to be about the narrator showing women’s power throughout history. However, before I could finish the piece, I received feedback from students that prefered for the narrator to keep talking the way it was. So, I did. I went back and changed it to the narrator showing the reader stereotypes. I am, really proud of the narration of the prose, it is very original. “Keep walking, get in the elevator and go to the twenty seventh floor. The doors open and again there is a front desk with a secretary. Could it be a he?” I love the way I play with the reader's mind. It could have improved by not mentioning anything about stereotypes until the very end. It could have given it a bidder punch at the end. I tell everything instead of showing. Yet, this is one of my favorite pieces. It is in this portfolio because it is the first piece that I write that makes the reader reflect about himself. It is deeper that just a story.
