instrumentos.
Academic Coaches
The district values the importance of providing professional
learning support to its teachers. Currently, LUSD has one academic
coach at each elementary school. Academic Coaches are
certificated teachers who have extensive training in teacher
support strategies, specifically in the areas of reading and
language arts. Each coach works closely with the site principal and
staff on site-based professional development needs, data analysis,
student needs, and academic progress and improvement.
New Merced County Head Start Facility – Opening July 2019
Federal Grant dollars were awarded to the Early Education Department of Merced County Office of Education (MCOE) to
build a new head start facility. LUSD has partnered with MCOE to build the new facility in Livingston on the corner of 6 th and
Park Street near Campus Park Elementary. The two-classroom building will serve 40 students’ ages 3-5 of low-income families
that meet the federal requirements. This will provide much needed early learning services to our students. Construction is
expected to be complete by June 2019.
