Description : The dorsum of this Pristimantis is light brown with longitudinal dark stripes ; the middle and outer of which being broader and more conspicuous . It has dark brown lip bars , a postorbital stripe and a canthal stripe . Red speckling can be present on all dorsal surfaces . The limbs have dark transverse bands that extend to the hidden surfaces of the thighs . The back of the thighs have some small pale flecks . The anterior parts of the thighs are slightly tinged with orange . The venter is white and boldly black mottled , the throat has faint dark flecks . The iris is gold with black reticulations and a median horizontal red strike .
Similar species : Pristimantis martiae and P . imitatrix are similar but do not have a black and white mottled venter . P . ventrimarmoratus has cream and dark brown bars on the anterior surfaces of the thighs , a bronzy iris and a different dorsal pattern . P . lindae and P . sp1 have a visible tympanum .
Habitat and ecology : Almost nothing is known about the ecology of this undescribed species . Females are considerably larger than males .
At the MLC : Found only twice up in the Piñi Piñi range at 1100 m asl , at night on low vegetation .

Descripción : El dorso de esta Pristimantis es marrón claro con bandas oscuras longitudinales ; la del medio y las exteriores son más anchas y evidentes . Tiene barras labiales marrón oscuro , una banda postorbital y una cantal . Puede tener moteado rojo en todas las superficies dorsales . Las patas tienen marcas transversales oscuras que se extienden hasta las superficies ocultas de los muslos . La parte trasera de los muslos tiene algunas motas pálidas . La parte anterior de los muslos tiene algunos matices anaranjados . El vientre es blanco con un fuerte moteado blanco y negro , la garganta tiene motas oscuras débiles . El iris es dorado con reticulacuiones negras y una banda horizontal roja cruzándolo .
Especies similares : Pristimantis martiae y P . imitatrix son parecidas pero no tienen vientre moteado de blanco y negro . P . ventrimarmoratus tiene barras cremas y marrón oscuro en la parte anterior de los muslos , un iris color bronce y un patrón dorsal diferente . P . lindae y P . sp1 tienen un tímpano visible .
Hábitat y ecología : Casi no se conoce nada de esta especie aún no descrita . Las hembras son de tamaño considerablemente mayor que los machos .
En el MLC : Solo se ha encontrado dos veces en la cordillera del Piñi Piñi a 1100 msnm , de noche en vegetación baja .
