Pristimantis ventrimarmoratus
Description : This small frog has a light brown to tan dorsum with irregular dark markings . The venter is white with a bold black marbled venter . The groin and occasionally the flanks are white with black bars . The limbs show diagonal bars dorsally that extend to the hidden surfaces of the thighs . The ventral surfaces can have a reddish / pinkish tinge . The tympanum is not visible . The iris is bronze with black flecks .
Similar species : Pristimantis divnae , P . diadematus and P . sp4 also have a marbled venter , but P . divnae has a yellow colouration in the groin and on the back legs , P . diadematus has a prominent visible tympanum and P . sp4 is smaller , lacks the dark brown bars on the back of the thighs and has a different dorsal pattern .
Habitat and ecology : This nocturnal species inhabits lowland and montane tropical forest ranging up to 1740 m asl . It is more common in montane forest .

Descripción : Esta pequeña rana tiene un dorso que varía de marrón claro a canela con marcas irregulares oscuras . El vientre es blanco con un marmoleado negro bien definido . La ingle y ocasionalmente los flancos son de color blanco con barras negras . Las extremidades muestran barras diagonales dorsalmente que se extienden hacia las superficies ocultas de los muslos . La superficie ventral puede tener un matiz rojizo / rosa . El tímpano no es visible . El iris es de color bronce con motas negras .
Especies similares : Pristimantis divnae , P . diadematus y P . sp4 también tienen un vientre marmoleado , pero P . divnae tiene coloración amarilla en la ingle y en las patas traseras , P . diadematus tiene un tímpano muy visible y P . sp4 carece de las barras marrones oscuras en las superficies ocultas de los muslos y tiene un patrón de coloración dorsal diferente .
Hábitat y ecología : Esta especie nocturna habita bosques tropicales bajos , pero es más común en los bosques montanos extendiéndose hasta los 1740 msnm .
