Examples including effects of single nucleotide polymorphisms in genes on the responsiveness of health related biomarkers to plant sterols and omega-3 fatty acids will be examined. Overall, the question of whether adequate scientific evidence exists in support of presently available commercial precision nutrition platforms based on genes will be addressed.
