FHU3209 Agroforestry (Semester 2, Session 2017/2018) Agroforestry News (May 2018) | Page 25

Results & discussion:

There are total of 6-7 kilogram (kg) straw

mushroom produce in 20 plant beds. The first

week of harvesting recorded about 5 kg while in the week fourth, the production is extremely decline and not even reach 1 kg. The only reason for the declining of production is due to the depletion of nutrient in the EFB.

From the observation, the harvested amount of straw mushroom in the final week for harvesting is merely come from every plant bed is only one or two “egg” due to the depletion of nutrient in the EFB. The production is only one over twelve (1/12) from

the first harvesting product.

Conclusion

In the word of conclusion, planting mushroom in the forest

is a good idea for doing the research in order to find

and justify any factors that may be could be control

by human to get a favourable condition to maximize

the production. If this research is successful, it

may give a good approach for to be implement

in any natural forest or forest plantation in

Malaysia since we have started to aware on the

consequences of intensive agricultural activity.

Nowadays, we tend to practice land sharing in order

to gain profit, supply food, help the community and as well as taking care of the ecosystem. This study has summarized the importance of agroforestry for the benefit and wellbeing of the people and Mother Nature.

Thank you for giving us the opportunities to involve with this project. :)
