Hereford Lions club’s Autumn Ball at Lyde
Arundell was a stunning success attended by 200
guests and raising £10,000 from a charity auction
of 19 donated lots including a holiday apartment
in Portugal and a weekend sailing for 6 on
Hereford Sailing Club’s yacht on the Cornish
coast, for St. Michael’s Hospice.
The guests were equally generous with the raffle
contributing £1,000 on tickets which was matched
with a £1,000 donation from Barclays Bank.
Karen and Liz (below) from Barclays helped with
the raffle. Organiser Lion Mike Hughes said “we
have had much praise from the guests for an
outstanding occasion, but they too deserve praise
for their generosity in support of St Michael’s
Hospice.”
