A NIGHT AT THE RACES
Horse racing is back at Hereford
Racecourse after a break of several years
which is good news for those who can
manage a day off in the week to follow
their favourite sport. But what about the
vast majority who can’t skive off work?
The answer is simple: Book a table at
Hereford Lions Club’s annual Racenight and
Supper in Hereford Shirehall on Saturday,
February 25. Its cheaper, lots more fun and
warm and dry. OK, so you don’t get to see live
horses jumping the fences, but the filmed
version of actual races is far more exciting and
200 punters screaming at the horse they have bet
on adds to the tension.
Lions Racenight has become a hugely
popular social occasion, with groups off
friends and workmates making up tables
for what is recognised as a value for money
night out. Drinks are sold at standard prices
and a hot supper, including puds is included
d
in the ticket price.
