Getting Here
Fernie is situated along Highway 3 (aka Crowsnest Highway) in the heart of the Canadian Rocky
Mountains in south eastern British Columbia. Fernie is a 3-hour drive west of Calgary Alberta and the Calgary International Airport, and is just 2 hours west of Waterton National Park and 4 hours south of Banff National Park. Visitors flying into Calgary International Airport or Vancouver International Airport can take daily connector flights to Cranbrook Airport, located 1 hour from Fernie. Fernie is 30 minutes north of the US border (Roosville Crossing open 24 hours), 1.5 hours from Whitefish and 2 hours from Glacier National Park, Kalispell, Montana, and Glacier International Airport. Visitors can also fly into Spokane, Washington, a 5 hour drive from Fernie.

Driving Times and Information
Highway 3 to Fernie from Alberta is the easiest drive through the Rocky Mountains into BC. Highway. 3 offers a very scenic drive that makes Fernie a perfect touring hot spot for drives through southern BC, AB and the NWUSA. Self-drive holidays are highly recommended. Car and RV rental companies are located at or nearby every airport. Winter ski season shuttles are available from Calgary Airport with charters available from other airports. Greyhound Busline does offer a daily red eye (middle of the night) service. The local Fernie ski shuttle provides transportation between the town of Fernie and Fernie Alpine Resort (5km) during the winter ski season.
