Fernie offers a fantastic combination of gently groomed trails, fun play areas, long rides and advanced mountain terrain. Convenient staging areas and groomed trails are only minutes from town. The welcoming on-trail facilities of Wranglers Cabin and Roll- ing Hills Cabin offer a great spot to warm up, meet other sledders and enjoy your packed lunch. The Coal Creek area attracts riders of all abilities, while Morrissey offers exceptional in- termediate to advanced riding options. Hartley Lake, Corbin, and Ram Creek provide dramatic advanced terrain for experienced riders. Trail passes are required to sled in the valley. You can purchase these in town at Ghostrider Motorsports or at any of the staging areas. The Fernie Snowmobile Association also offers . annual membership providing season long . access and great member benefits, including a free Trail Map, at very affordable rates. Sled rentals, gear and accessories are also available in town. Call Ghostrider Motorsports in advance to ensure rentals are available. For those new to sledding in the mountains, riding and snowmobile specific avalanche safety clinics are a great way to get comfortable with the area under assistance by local professionals. Avalanche training and guide services are avail- able through Elk Valley Snow Shepherds and Weir Boondocking offers a variety of snowmo- bile riding clinics to enhance your skills.
