HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It’s the time of year to make resolutions and set goals for all the things we hope to accomplish. As women of faith our goals ought to reflect what we believe about ourselves and what we believe about God. Before you set your goals this year there are a few things you must accept

Things You Must Accept

You Set Your Goals for

Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with

it. (KJV)

There are blessings which comes from the Lord that result in things such as: happiness, peace, joy, and salvation and prosperity. As a christians you are willing to accept the majority of those blessings, but the last one, “prosperity” you sometimes seem to leave it out. You welcome the prayer for healing and restoration but if someone is praying for financial prosperity it’s a different story.

I blame the misquoting of one single verse in the bible. “Money is the root of all evil.” The bible actually reads, “the love of money is the root of all evil”. There is a small but distinct difference between the two. The former implies money leads you down a path of destruction which understandable would cause you to want to avoid it and question the faith of those who don’t. The latter, however, links the path of destruction to what is in your heart. You should love God and if you love money instead you will be lead astray in pursuit of it.

If however, your prosperity is a result of God’s blessing you will not experience the sorrows of others who have come to their fortune by means outside of God’s blessings.

It’s important to remember you serve a God who fights for your, sacrifices for you and wants you to live an abundant life. It’s not defined by money, but it does include it. Why then should you be poor and those operating outside of his will be rich?

God says you are the lender and not the borrower. You are to feed the hungry and clothe the poor. Money is necessary to accomplish those goals. Don’t allow the enemy to pervert the idea of money in your mind and in your life.

Money is just a tool; it’s not good or evil. It’s in how you use it.
