Hyrax Oil in return will offer marketing, training and technical support to compliment the efforts of National Oil. President Uhuru Kenyatta announced the elevation of the State Department for Petroleum into a fully-fledged Ministry merging it with the State Department of Mining to form the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining. Hon. John Munyes was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary for the newly set-up Ministry and the principle secretary in the former State Department for Petroleum Mr. Andrew Kamau will now serve as a Principle Secretary for the newly formed Ministry. National Oil will now fall under the jurisdiction of this newly formed Ministry.
