Desensitising sprays and condoms
Desensitising creams or sprays can help. They reduce the sensations felt
during sex so that it can last longer. You can buy spray over the counter
either at your pharmacist or in a sex shop. You spray it on the head of your
dick about ten minutes before you have sex. However, many men feel that
these products make sex less pleasurable because of the reduced sensitiv-
ity. Many of these creams are not condom compatible, so be sure to care-
fully check the label before you use them. To be sure you’re being safe, you
can buy ‘delay’ condoms which have a lotion inside them and can provide a
gentle numbing effect to prolong sex.
Some men find that a thick condom can help them last longer because of
the slightly reduced sensitivity. You may want to change to a thicker condom
to see if this helps you. To find out more about condoms and lube, visit out
Condoms and Lube section.
What else can I do?
If you have tried all of the above and still find yourself shooting your load
prematurely, you may want to see a doctor. Because discussing your sex-
ual problems with your GP could be a daunting experience for some of us,
you can also get expert advice and a range of treatments without having to
see a doctor face-to-face. The Dr Thom website offers an anonymous free
online assessment by NHS-certified doctors which determines if you need
medical treatments like Prigili or EMLA. If the assessment suggests that you
need treatments, you can purchase these online and get them delivered in
discreet packaging to your doorstep. By quoting the GMFA code number
‘187BBA9′ when checking out, Dr Thom will give 5% of the price of the pur-
chased product to GMFA, which will help us to keep this website going.
