We have all heard of "Project Runway", in which designers compete to bring the most uniquely and intriguing designs. "Styled to Runway" though, as mentioned in Amy Kuperinsky's article "Rihanna's 'Styled to Rock' tries to strike a chord on Bravo", Rihanna say that designers are actually "designing to define an artist's image". We couldn't agreed more to the importance of fashion as successful marketing strategy.

Produced by the sexy, flamboyant pop-star Rihanna, featuring Pharellel Williams as the mentor and Erin Wasson and Mel Ottenberg as judges, this show aims at celerbrity fashion and music.

The "what it is" is fairly clear, reiterating that's a tv show designed towards celerbity fashion and music and its purpose asks designers to design an artist's outlook. But it is missing it's stake as some articles shared. Articles have viewed this show as nothing unique from an entertaining standpoint and fashion TV programs generally fail to shine

According to The Guardian's article, "Why does reality TV about the fashion industry always lack sparkle?", it claims that the Styled to Rock show is unclear despite the fashion glamour and enduring desingers. As noted, "Styled to Rock can't seem to make up its mind what it wants to be. A reality-talent show about fashion with a celebrity element, or a show about celebrities and fashion with a reality-talent show element? It's unclear." So what is the mission, nature and value of this show?

Another component that reduces the show is the lack of dramatic tension. For instance, designers become indecisive in selecting fabrics or quarrel about terminnology. The Guardian's article further explains that "it's as if the programme-makers thought that being in the reflected glow of "fashion being created" was enough to hold your attention. But it's not. Ultimately, what should result in an explosive mix of fashion, music and drama ends up being less Devil Wears Prada and more Devil Wears George by Asda". Styled to Rock to this source appears dull, boring, traditional and nothing uniquely exciting.

Clearly, critics conclude Rihanna's show from a B to a C. Fashion Odds may have to agree too, but upcoming episodes to await will determine our offiical rating.

'Styled to Rock' airs 8 p.m. Fridays on Bravo.
