ANTM IS

NO MORE!

Many of us grew up on the hit show, America’s Next Top Model. It has made its mark on pop culture and inspired so many around the word to pursue modeling; and maybe even more importantly, understand it.

Tyra Banks made a surprising post via Instagram in the middle of the season to announce that season 22 would be the last.

Over the past 12 years of the show’s run, it gave the everyday person a never before seen look on the not so glamourous, difficult and often tedious career, and showed viewers that good looks simply aren’t enough in the world of modeling.

Legendary model Tyra Banks created the series and served as its host for the entire run, accompanied by ever changing judges and photo-shoot creative directors/coaches. While the series never actually produced a top model, it did discover reality star Adrianne Curry (cycle 1 winner) and actress Yaya DaCosta (cycle three runner-up), who currently appears in the NBC series “Chicago Med,” just to name a few.

America’s Next Top Model did create a platform for an industry of models who are often treated as less than in the billion dollar fashion industry. This platform opened up to male models in the last 3 cycles of the show, with one male winner (Keith Carlos) so far.

ANTM will surely go down in the popular culture history books, and will be missed worldwide.
