TOP MODEL

DEVON WALKER

F.O: What has been your favorite shoot / campaign / work to date?

D: Its hard for me to pick my all time favorite shoot/ campaign I've shot for, so I'll give you my top three. My favorite ad I've shot for so far is Footlocked/ Eastbay magazine and online ads 2013, Nicki Minaj's MYX Moscato Commercial (should be aired sometime in 2015), and a music video I shot for Lady Gaga titled "G.U.Y." 2014 .

F.O: How would you describe your personal style, Where do you pull your inspiration from?

D: I would describe my personal style as urban, modern, and easy to wear. I don't care about big brands, I just buy whatever I think looks good. I mostly pull my inspiration from the clothing brands TopMan, Urban Outfitters, and Allsaints.

F.O: Do you have any hidden talents?

D: I like to work on my artwork in my free time. I can sketch anything that's in front of me, but I mostly enjoy woking on figure drawings.

F.O.: Whats some advice you’d give to aspiring models ?

I would give you the simple and easy answer that most models would give you, which is to eat healthy and workout. Those two things are important, but I want to take this opportunity to talk about something that I feel people underestimate.

The best advice I can give to aspiring models is to love, value, and accept yourself. It's so important for models and people in general to know who they are as a person before they go out into the world and let other people tell them who they are or who they should be. It doesn't matter if you're weird, gay, or awkward; there's a place in this world for everyone. Be 100% yourself every second of the day, don't change who you are for anyone. Your outer beauty is what gets everyone's attention, but your inner beauty is what makes them stick around.

F.O: Anything Else our audience should know about you ?,

D: I love and value my friends and family. People say this all the time, but I truly don't know where I would be without them. They are always there to call me out if I'm doing something wrong, encourage me to do better, and we all just want to see each other succeed in whatever it is that we are pursuing. I am grateful, thankful, and appreciative to have all of you in my life.

F.O: First off tell us how you were

"discovered" and how your modeling career all started?

D: I was discovered for modeling my freshman year of college when I was 19 years old. I was at a party and a lady that worked for a local talent agency in Minnesota, Minnesota wanted me to stop by the agency she worked for to meet the owner. I stopped by the agency, took a few head shots and started my modeling career.
