All necessary measures to ensure a safe environment for all guests will be implemented. JOSEPH D. CARRIER ART GALLERY The Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery welcomes thousands of visitors annually. It was established in 1987 under the beneficent patronage of Toronto businessman, Joseph Carrier. Often referred to as “Toronto’s mini-Guggenheim,” the gallery has 21,000 square feet of exhibition space over three circular levels, topped by a giant skylight. The Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery is situated in the Columbus Centre. 2020 – 2021 UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS “40 Under Forty” October 1 – November 21, 2020 In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Columbus Centre, the Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery is presenting an exhibition of 40 Ontario-based artists, all of whom were born after the Columbus Centre was established. This comprehensive exhibition will give the audience a look at what young artists are doing during a worldwide pandemic and while society experiences rapid and much-needed cultural and political growth. From faces to figures, still life to action painting, landscape to seascape, this broad exhibit will give the audience a look at varied themes and disciplines as diverse as the young artists themselves. Location: Upper and Lower Gallery Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery, Columbus Centre Mandate The gallery features modern contemporary art in photography, painting, sculpture and design. The gallery has displayed original work by international masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Piranesi, Picasso and others. The Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery places strong emphasis on work by emerging, mid-career and senior Canadian artists of Italian heritage. We also promote cross-cultural, intergenerational understanding and appreciation, through socially relevant exhibitions. The Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery also hosts the traditional Presepe-Nativity Exhibition organized by Centro Scuola every year in December.
