The Legislative Service Award recognizes the legislative involvement of individuals who have served at the state or federal level for several years , have a commitment to serving their constituents by actively participating in the legislative process , and have balanced the principles of justice and jurisprudence while serving the needs of the public . Sen . Karen K . Krebsbach has represented Minot in the North Dakota State Senate since 1989 , making her one of the most

senior state legislators in terms of service . During this time , she has served on several Senate committees . She is currently a vice-chair of the Senate Appropriation Committee , a position she has held since 2015 . During her years in the Legislature , and particularly in her position on the Senate Appropriations Committee , Sen . Krebsbach has been a strong and tireless supporter of the North Dakota Court System , as well the Commission of Legal Counsel for the Indigent .
In addition to her work in the Senate , Sen . Krebsbach serves on the Minot State University Board of Regents and the university ’ s foundation , the Board of Directors of Trinity Health in Minot , and the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation . She has made economic development one of her vocations and for years served on the Minot Area Development Corporation and the Greater North Dakota Association ( GNDA ). She was very proud to serve as the first female president of GNDA .

Joseph Wetch was recognized for his service on SBAND ’ s Board of Governors . He served as president of SBAND from June 2015 to June 2016 .
