BOYS WRESTLING

The 2018-2019 Wrestling season got off to a slow start this year after graduating 8 starting seniors from last year’s lineup. Some younger wrestlers including Gabe Mendoza, Mohamed Fayez, Dante Guzman, Manny Ortiz, and Zach Astengo have quickly filled in the roles of their former teammates. This year, for the first time ever, a female wrestler, Brooke Tulloch, has joined the team. The team is led by coaches Wayne Rogers and Matt Jacobson, both of whom were previous wrestlers for Saddle Brook. Returning varsity wrestlers include Seniors Christian Saade, Jakub Dmitruk, Michael Deperi, Dean Settiscase, Junior Michael Faustini and Sophomore Jonathan Lau. As of now, the team is 3-6 as they have defeated Secaucus, New Milford and Hasbrouck Heights. The team plans to continue with rigorous workouts and practices, and hopes to further improve its record as the season progresses.
